Advanced Workshop on Designing Engaging and Interactive Synchronous Online Class Sessions: Using Adobe Connect to Maximize its Pedagogical ValueThese are the slides from an advanced workshop called: Advanced Workshop on Designing Engaging and Interactive Synchronous Online Class Sessions: Using Adobe Connect to Maximize its Pedagogical Value. This was a two-session, 4-hour post-Master's advanced workshop. Workshop description: This free training can increase your skills in planning engaging and interactive activities for live class sessions in Adobe Connect, and will include hands-on activities, interactive demonstrations of advanced Adobe Connect features and how to use them for learning activities, and a free ebook resource that can spark ideas for planning activities throughout the academic year. We strive to make all of our trainings practical, applicable, and a good use of your time. We appreciate that folks are busy, and when you take the time to join us for training, we care deeply that it be worth it for you. Folks who attend this workshop will experience a variety of interactive uses of Adobe Connect, many of which you may not have seen before. You will also have time to consider and discuss how you can apply what you’ve experienced to your own courses in order to engage your students and use the tools and features in Adobe Connect to teach effectively. This is a chance to take your online teaching skills to the next level. Particularly if you’ve just been using the basics in Adobe Connect (slides, chat, polls, and breakout discussions), we hope this workshop will help you break out of your routines and help you get creative when planning your class sessions this fall and beyond. Rather than preparing a handout for this workshop, we’ve prepared an ebook, which we hope will be a resource that will be useful for you all year. 40+ Online Campus members have contributed chapters that share examples of interactive activities in Adobe Connect, and we are grateful to all of the chapter authors. We will be using this ebook throughout the workshop, and highlighting many of the activities in the chapters.
